Students will learn “by doing” in a our very popular Dynamic Careers in Aquaculture Interdistrict Grant (DCA). This program enrolls students from several neighboring school districts and focuses on the scientific, ecological, economic, and career aspects of the field of aquaculture.
Its hands-on activities will provide exciting opportunities for students to acquire practical knowledge, “fun” relaxed atmosphere and learn about aquaculture in Connecticut by visiting local businesses raising shellfish and produce. Activities will include:
- Establishing their own hydroponic garden to raise salad greens
- Studying the waters of Long Island Sound
- Visiting the Norwalk Maritime Center***
- Swimming, picnicking, and field games***
